An agent becomes an operational concern when it can read sensitive information, invoke tools or change business state. At that point, the surrounding control system matters as much as the reasoning inside it.

• Explicit authority. A model proposes; a policy-bound system decides whether to execute.
• Limited scope. Start with the smallest useful permission and the narrowest viable data path.
• Observable decisions. Make accepted, denied, failed and unknown outcomes distinguishable.
• Recoverable change. Treat model routes, prompts, policies and infrastructure as reviewed dependencies.
• Named ownership. A control without an owner is not a resolved control.

What we do not do.

• We do not bypass source-system access controls to make a workflow succeed.
• We do not describe a prototype as production-ready without accepted evidence.
• We do not treat a different model provider as an interchangeable, pre-approved route.
• We do not assume responsibility for infrastructure or operational work outside the agreed scope.
• We do not substitute an architecture document for legal or regulatory advice.

The work described here covers runtime and tool boundaries, scoped execution, identity and permissions, state access, audit, cost controls and release methods. Implementation choices depend on the customer environment and the agreed responsibilities.

The starting point is a reviewable action and data-flow map. The result to seek is a system whose authority, failure behavior and operational ownership can be examined—not an assumption that more autonomy is always better.
